Search Engine Optimization - Basic Rules for Quality SEO

The ROAD to success in Internet marketing is through Search Engine Optimization. Over 90 percent of traffic generated by web sites comes from search engines and learning the algorithm of various SEs is the key to a high visitor rate. This can be carried out in 4 simple but important rules:

Research keywords and establish the most unique and popular primary as well as secondary keywords/key phrases. That is the first step to Search Engine Optimization. This research is best done with the help of Overture, Google, and/or Word Tracker keyword search tools.

Optimize and analyze keywords and choose those that are most often used by searchers or those that are most relevant and unique to promote.

Application of the research is done in the form of content generation. It is important to remember that content should not only be search engine friendly but also interesting and useful to the average human visitor. The third most important rule of Search Engine Optimization is to pay attention to Title tags, Meta tags like description and keyword, Heading tags and Body text.

Debate and virtually review content of the website by testing it with various search engines and human experts. Check continuity and proper keyword density which should be around 2-3 percent and never overstuffed. Today's Search Engine Optimization concepts do not take kindly to spamming keywords.

In conclusion, following these basic four rules leads to Search Engine Optimization and consequent success in any web venture.
