"He who binds to himself a joy does the winged life destroy; But he who kisses the joy as it flies, lives in eternity's sunrise." That is the English poet, William BLake speaking in a work entitled, "Eternity." Blake is a poet, painter, printer, and prophet. He was born in 1757 and died in 1827 and left volumes of work for us to appreciate. As you can see from this short work, he was able to say quite a bit in a simple thought.I learned there is so much more than meets the eye by reading Blake's work. In this work, I see the folly of attaching myself to things that make me feel good. So easy to do in this world I live in. There are so many things I can claim as trophies to put on my shelf of thoughts and drool over. Whether it be physical accomplishments, personal conquests, exterior pleasures or phony addictions, I can create a life of superficial joy and miss the purpose of my journey. I wrap myself so tightly around outside illusions, I lose myself in the belief of "The Truth." My truth sits quietly within, waiting for me to wake up. It waits until I'm ready to feel the me, that knows real joy. The joy of connection to All There Is. That is the true definition of the word joy. Connection to myself and the web of consciousness that is part of All There Is.Blake's words describe that joy. That desire to kiss it and live in eternity's sunrise, is why I am experiencing the illusions of these overstated joys. From the awareness that there is more to me, than physical form I begin to wake up. I can begin to feel my emotions as they vibrate in happiness. My spirit is lifted from its seat and speaks in loving whispers. As you know, there is a phrase circulating called, "The Secret", or better known as "The Law Of Attraction." I have known about this way of living for some time, we all have, but I didn't believe it. It basically says that what I think is what I will attract, good or bad, depending on my thoughts. If I want to attract all the things that are always available in the universe such as; abundance, good health, happiness, love and overall well being, then I must vibrate with those feelings. Feelings are the language of the universe, and what I believe, I will attract. If I think a thought long enough it becomes a belief. Then once I believe something, as long as I allow it to flow, without contrasting thoughts blocking my belief, it will manifest in my life. Whatever the desire, I will experience it. It is how the universe works. That is the joy that Blake speaks about, attracting it, and not being bound to it.I always wondered how some people had more, or experienced more than I did, then I understood that what these people were living, whether they were aware of it or not, was they believed in what they wanted and let the universal consciousness provide it without distortions. I know now we all have the same awareness and connection, all that is needed is belief, and as long as it doesn't rule my life, I am living in joy.I now live by this rule: What I believe, I will experience; What I experience I will express; What I express I will become. My thoughts create my world and I can either live in the joy of universal connection, or the joy of illusion. I made my choice several years ago, and I now know who I am.
