Strategic Planning Can Grow Your Business with a United Vision and Personal Accountability

Strategic planning can grow your business when everyone shares the same vision. What keeps the business in a constant uphill struggle is that everyone probably does not agree on the same steps necessary to realize that vision. This is simply called personal accountability.

Many organizations literally spend thousands of dollars in creating strategic plans, business plans, and department plans. Unfortunately the executives within these organizations are frustrated because of the lack of business results.

What is needed for consistent execution of the strategic plan is a disciplined process of personal accountability that endures everyone is taking the same steps to execute the plan. Just imagine for a moment, if everyone in your organization accepted personal responsibility for securing the desired results. How much could your organization grow? 20%, 50%, or maybe even 100%? Would you not have a high performance culture?

To stop the insanity where people confuse motion with progress and activity with results begins by including personal development of your employees within your strategic plan. This personal development should begin with the beliefs that drive the attitudes demonstrated through the behaviors.

Effective execution of your strategic plan goes hand in hand with the attitudes of your employees. Continual practice fed by improved goal achievement stars you on a road where you receive success because you believe in success.

If your people are not delivering your results, then ask yourself if you know for sure that all of your employees consistently set and achieve their own personal goals? Then think about where you learned goal setting and goal achievement. Most people have never learned how to set and achieve goals, yet organizations demand that they execute plans with tens if not hundreds of goals. Does this truly make sense?

Take the time to help your people embrace a consistent goal setting and goal achievement process that develops personal accountability. Then, watch your business results grow.
