Telephonics Corporation Announces Five Year Contract Award from US Army Aviation and Missile Command

By: Community News

Telephonics Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Griffon Corporation (NYSE:GFF), announced today that it has been awarded a five year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract from the US Army Aviation and Missile Command for Telephonics’ TruLink Wireless Intercommunication System. The contract is for TruLink hardware and services to support the Department of Defense (DOD) and other government agencies. This IDIQ contract streamlines acquisition by creating a more direct buying route for military customers to use in purchasing TruLink equipment. The IDIQ contract has a potential contract value in excess of $60M over the next five years.

Telephonics’ TruLink product family, inclusive of the Aircraft Wireless Intercommunication System configuration, which supports Army and Navy airborne applications, provides full duplex, wireless hands free intercommunications for use in high noise military environments. TruLink eliminates safety issues associated with the use of long cord/wired communication systems. Military applications of the TruLink products include aircraft, helicopters, ground vehicles and maritime craft.

“The IDIQ contract provides a more efficient acquisition process for our DOD customers to procure TruLink hardware and services,” said Phil Nicholas, President Telephonics Communication Systems. “This contract builds on the strong relationship established between the DOD and Telephonics for wireless intercommunication systems.”

Work on this program is to be performed in Telephonics facilities in Farmingdale, NY.
