Our Country Can’t Get Enough Promotional ProductsAlmost everywhere you look, our country is covered with labels. Our food, our clothes, and every aspect of our entertainment from Safeco field to commercials at the movie theater, infiltrate us with labels. The labels tell us what to think, wear, and do if we want to be happy - and we eat it up. We can’t get enough. Once consumers have become dependent on the product to tell them what to do they need its input in their lives. What should I eat for breakfast this morning? I saw that Britney Spears eats pancakes - I will too. These labels have taken on a functioning role in millions of lives. Labels have even become a useful way to express oneself. Whether you are a Wal Mart junkie or you avoid the store at all costs, you can use their label to express that aspect of who you are. Even our money is covered in labels, and the exact image and texture of the label determines its validity.Take a look at an average policeman. His uniform gives him the look of confidence and control, but it is his badge that holds his status. When an officer is asked to leave the force, the famous phrase is not ‘turn in your uniform’, its ‘turn in your badge’. While uniforms and weapons have the power of use, the badge has the even higher power of symbolism. It stands for all of the hard work that the officer has done to get to where he is. It represents his dedication to the community and his willingness to risk his life for them. An officer can have a uniform, a gun, handcuffs, but without his badge, he is powerless. What do sports teams play for? Money? Gifts? No, trophies! The trophy is yet another symbolic label. It represents every game that team struggled to win to get where they are, every grueling practice, and to each player it represents every personal sacrifice that he or she chose to make for the sake of victory. That trophy is priceless. No team would ever sell their trophies. Symbols such as those are reserved for museums - and they are also promotional products! The Gift That Keeps On GivingGiving a creatively chosen, appropriate gift with your logo on it is one of the best marketing strategies known to man. The gift that brings in the most business is small so it is easily transportable, useful so that it is seen often, and most definitely related to the customers line of work. The gift is also an everlasting expression of well wishes and camaraderie. It's clear why "business gifts" top the list of most popular uses of promotional products, according to recent industry estimates. An Image Is Worth One Thousand WordsHow often do you acknowledge the millions of images that enter your brain each day? How is it that America’s love of capturing one moment in time has built the multi billion-dollar industries of photography, graphic art, movies, and other fine arts? And what is so impressive about an image anyway? An image represents a moment in time that can be frozen, kept, and even held.We are all fascinated by the idea of stopping time - going back in time. This is what we do when we reminisce with photos from our past or with movies that we watch over and over. We don’t want it to end. But even more than not wanting it to end, we want to share it. We want to tell everyone we know when we see a great film or are influenced greatly by a piece of artwork. So it is with our lives. We feel the urge to take photos of every occasion and share them with everyone we know. And we do the same thing when we find a new product or service we love - we share! We are drawn to sharing, so every provider of anything should be sure to have a well stocked supply of interesting items with their logo and information to give out to everyone - and watch the sharing begin!
