The New Faces of 'Lost' Season

With Lost’s fourth season now upon us, here’s a look at some of the new faces that promise to add even more flavor to the cult mystery/adventure series.

First up is Rebecca Mader in the role of Charlotte Lewis. What little information there is so far about her Lost persona indicates that she is a sexy and intelligent twenty-something who is scheduled to turn up in the second installment of this new season entitled “Confirmed Dead.”

Next in line is Jeff Fahey as Frank Lapidus.

“Fahey is one of those actors who feels like he fits into the Lost model: He's enormously talented and will be vaguely recognizable to some people, but he'll be able to land on our island without most people going, 'Oh, I know who that guy is.' And especially for the part we cast him for, he has exactly the right sensibilities,'' Damon Lindelof, co-creator of Lost, told Entertainment Weekly when the actor was first tapped for the role.

Another new character is Daniel Faraday, essayed by Jeremy Davies. Faraday is named after real-life physicist, Michael Faraday, whose work involved a study of electromagnetism, a powerful force on the island.

Also set to make an appearance this season is Ken Leung as Miles. According to Damon Lindelof, the writers of the series came up with the character of Miles specifically for Leung, who will also make his debut on the show in the second episode, just like Rebecca Mader’s Charlotte Lewis.

Finally there is Lance Reddick as Matthew Abbadon. There are indications that this character will be some kind of corporate recruiter, quite possibly with a less than altruistic nature. After all, in Hebrew, Abbadon stands for destruction.

Both Jeremy Davies and Lance Reddick made their first appearances in the season opener entitled “The Beginning of the End.”
