I am a little girl with big dreamsEven though I am turning 50Even though most of my hair is turning grayEven though new wrinkles areBeing possessiveAnd the old ones want to stayEach of my wrinklesReminds meStillI am a little girl with big dreams I see my dreams as stars in the skyI see my dreams as birds flyI see many dreams come trueI see some fall throughEach of my dreams that diesI make a wish for anotherTo come to lifeEach of my dreams reminds meI am a little girl with big dreams My dreams bring life to my mindMy dreams make nights brighterAnd days shineMy dreams are the food for my soulMy dreams fill the sadness holesMy dreams make me realizeWho I am and what I still want to beI am a little girl with big dreams I celebrate my lifeAnd each moment reminds meI am a little girl with big dreams. Why do I feel sad Why do I feel sadWhenYou don't listen to meWhyThen I asked myselfThe true myselfThe answer isI really don't spend timeTo know youI do spend timeTo create youMy creation isJust a fantasyTo serve my own purposeBut it is not the true you But ifI would have spent timeKnowing youRather then creating youLife would have been different Now I realizeReality hurtsonlyWhenMy own fantasyTakes control of my life.

Author: Pum Sandhu
When people read Pum’s poetry, they are struck by its simplicity and stark truth. Pum writes about big ideas like courage, love, power, self-knowledge. But she uses basic images and words to convey these ideas. A small boat tossed in an ocean becomes a symbol of courage. A reflection in a mirror becomes a moment of questioning identity. Her poems gain power through simple repetition of words or rhythmically pulsing phrase.
Two of her ebooks ‘the hoping game’ and ‘Courage is Me” are available on breezgreetings.com/
