If we look closely to all that is being done in Africa to combat HIV/AIDS the truth is not a lot. The population percentages in some parts of Africa with AIDS is so high the chances of contracting it are well over 80% and that means there is not a lot of hope. Many groups solicit monies from the public to assist in the combating of HIV/AIDS and yet when we look at the stats, well these groups as well-intentioned as they are fall miserably short. Many non-profit groups have taken up residency in the Urban Slums of Africa and these slums are huge one in Nairobi has 800,000 in it. One non-profit group helping claims to have 10,000 people under care, another 20,000 and still another has 1731 orphan children of AIDS victims. Either their mother or both their mother and father have died.Of course each individual is important to save and yet as we look at these stats, they do not lie. For instance there were 14,000,000 orphans of HIV/AIDS victims in 2001 estimated in Africa, wonder what it is today. So that number will be placed right next to the 1731 orphans being helped and taken care of.
