Think Success! And Achieve Success Online!

In 1952, Norman Vincent Peale published “The Power of Positive Thinking.” It was on the New York Times bestseller list for 186 consecutive weeks, sold 20 million copies and was translated into 41 different languages. Nowhere, since that time, has positive thinking been more appropriate – and more necessary – than in marketing on the internet.

A good illustration of contrasting attitudes in internet marketing can be found in fishing (not phishing, but fishing.) The fisherman with a poor attitude hopes there are fish in the water where he’s fishing and that he’ll get lucky. The fisherman with a positive attitude assumes there are fish in the water and that catching one is just a matter of presenting the right bait. On the internet, like on the water, the fisherman with the positive attitude will achieve success online.

Internet marketing is about presenting the right bait. There is no question whatsoever that the internet “sea” contains millions and millions of “fish.” There is no question that you have the same (or better) opportunity to catch them as any other fisherman – and you can be present in every part of the water at the same time. But for online success you need to attract them with the right bait.

All too often, the internet marketer without the positive attitude will give up after testing only one product and failing to get the desired results. The marketer that thinks success will keep testing additional products until he finds one that works. When he finds it, he knows that every time he puts his lure into the vast water of the internet, he’ll get a strike.
