Tiffany's Entrance

By: Robert Daniel

The dinner party, in which everybody who is anybody had been invited, was in full swing.

Three-year-old Tiffany had been sent to bed with strict instruction to go to sleep and stay there. "You can read to Teddy, drink your juice, clean your teeth and don't forget to go to the toilet. Then, because you're such a big girl, turn the light out and go to sleep."

"Yes Mummy. Goodnight Mummy. Kiss Teddy goodnight, he doesn't like it when you kiss me and forget to kiss him."

Mummy has a wet kiss with Tiffany, and a fluffy kiss with Teddy. She now has fluffy lips.

Mum and Dad listen at the bottom of the stairs and proudly smile at how grown up their little girl has become. All the guests arrive. Now it's all about looking good, sounding good and saying all the right things to all the right people.

An hour and a half later Tiffany stomped loudly down the staircase. Everyone knew someone was about to make a big entrance.

She kicked the door open and stormed into the dining room during main course, holding her dripping nightie up to her chin with one hand and looking around her startled audience accusingly.

“Which one of you” she demanded angrily, narrowing her eyes and pointing around the room, “Left the toilet seat up so I would fall in?”
