Traffic building is one of the most important things you can do online today. Think about it – no matter how well you do everything else – conversion rate, beautiful web site, etc., if you don’t have traffic, you don’t have a web business.1) Search engine traffic. You can get search engine traffic by getting to the top ten results page for each of your keywords. One of the easiest ways to get there is to optimize your web page for the given keyword, then accumulate backlinks into your web site optimized for the keyword. Be sure and alter about 20% of the text anchor links you use so that the search engines do not think that you are spamming. So how do you get backlinks? Exchange links with other webmasters in similar niches, submit your web site to the various online web directories, and write articles, include a text anchor link to your web page in the article, and submit your article to the various online article directories.2) Article generated traffic. For this, I write multiple articles and submit them all, with text anchor links included and optimized, to ezinearticles.com. My testing has proven that the clickthrough volume is 10 times higher for ezinearticles.com than it is for the next 50 biggest article directories combined.3) Your own list traffic. This might sound crazy, but my subscribers buy a lot from me. And the only way they buy is if they go to my web pages (or I send them my web pages). So yes, this counts as traffic – by the way, I get 2x as much traffic from my list as I do unique visitors each day – talk about a responsive list!
