A dial-up service is an economical but slow form of Internet access. A modem is necessary to dial an access number provided by the Internet Service Provider. On purchasing such an unlimited dial up access package, a user is free to use the Internet to his sole discretion. Hourly charges can be avoided by subscribing to such packages. Likewise, downloading becomes easier as a user gets the advantage of an unlimited Internet connection, similar to that of a broadband connection. Since dial up connections tend to be slow, a person requires more time to access the net and obtain information.
