ISP's are providing faster Internet speeds these days, so frequently checking your connection from time to time with an Internet speed test will show you how fast your connection may be. Unfortunately, not all ISP's provide speed tests so finding an accurate one can be tough. Most "Free" Internet speed tests aren't really free as they may want your email address, or even worse try to install spyware onto your computer slowing it down even worse. Worst still is most require some form of payment before they actually provide the speed test at all. If you happen to be lucky enough to find one that doesn't contain spyware, you still have to worry about if it actually works right. Finding one that works properly can take alot of time as well. 70% of Americans use at least 1 ISP. 60% of Americans use DSL or some other form of High-Speed provider. 86% of Americans use an ISP that doesn't provide an Internet speed test. Perhaps its insane, but I feel we should be able to test our Internet speeds when ever we feel the need. Why pay just to find out our ISP is horrible? There are a few Internet speed tests out there that do work. Finding them can sometimes be a real pain. Take the time and find one that works for you and stick with it.
