Utilizing E Books As A Source Of Revenue And Marketing

Not all Ebooks must be sold to turn a profit. It is possible to use free Ebooks to create a source of revenue. One way is to release a free sample of a product that is available for purchase. Another is to use the free sample to create traffic to other websites, such as by embedding links in the Ebook or using it to convince the reader of the advantages of using some service, possessing something or joining something affiliated with that site. These Ebooks would be intended to be so compelling and worthwhile that those who have them will mail them to friends who will then do the same, creating what is called a viral marketing campaign. This should be short and easy to email, suggesting limits to file size, and it must be compelling and interesting or entertaining. The work must be able to capture the attention of the reader if the free sample is to do anything other than increase your ISP bill for downloads.

You must ensure that your plan identifies the places where you intend to make your money and how much it will cost to get how much in return. You may find that your original estimates are off, perhaps a great deal. Plug the actual numbers into your revised plan to see if you are on the correct track. Most new businesses fail. Think about how you will be able to determine when yours is making the turn to profitability, and spend some time thinking about how you will identify the point at which you should cut your losses, if that becomes necessary.

Whenever I run a training program, I always stress the following: “Whatever you need to know, there is an expert out there who already knows it. Find this person before you need him.” Network, seek out others who are in or who have been in the same or similar businesses. Discover what worked and failed for them. Find out what they didn’t anticipate and what they miscalculated. Make sure you identify your competition so you can figure out how to tell your audience why you are better for them. Find those who will be your subcontractors to do things you need but can’t do yourself, and anticipate whether you need employees.

If you are able to create an Ebook that works successfully in a viral marketing campaign, this might be a good niche to enter. It is not easy to do so, and a proven ability to create results is a marketable skill. This means your customers are those organizations and people trying to reach a market. While they are the ones trying to identify and understand their market, it is incumbent upon you to check their work and assumptions. If they misunderstand their market, you do not wish to create a failure on your record if it can be avoided. This will probably lead to a careful negotiation to determine how much of their guidance you can alter. Be certain of your understanding, as a failed marketing campaign after you make changes to the customer’s wishes is potentially dangerous.
