There are a number of reasons why people might wish to develop a videoblog. Amongst these are personal reasons, family contact, selling goods or services or sharing something funny or amusing.

Another reason to develop a video blog or v-log is to develop some sort of artistic intent. While all video blogs to a certain extent have some artistic input and creativity, simply talking about your life, friend relations, or businesses does not constitute art in itself. The actual definition of art is rather obtruse, but luckily, in the world of videoblogging, this does not matter. Art can be whatever you want it to be - or, more importantly, whatever your visitors want it to be.

So consider somebody who is a writer, a poet, or an artist. They can use their v-logs in order to share their medium, communicate with the world and feel more at one with their viewers. A video blog in this way is just simply one other medium by which people can express their views and emotions, feelings and connect with like minded groups of people. And when developing a v-log, you can use a variety of adjunctive “props”. Some video bloggers will use background music maybe which they created themselves. Others will use light, sound, or other visual cues in order to express their emotions and feelings and to share a message with their viewers.

What is certain is that artists of all persuasions are turning to videoblogging in order to expose their craft, share their art and develop a like-minded community of followers.
