Was Ipuwer Hypomanic?

By: Lance Winslow

One trait we often see with very successful people in various subsectors and industries is that they will often say that other people around them are lazy and just do not try. They claim this is why they are so successful, not because they are great or superstars in their own right, although many of them are, but rather they state that humans have poor work ethic.

It might be of interest to you that this kind of a statement is nothing new in fact in 2000 BC, Ipuwer uttered such words. Due to social disorder in the population Ipuwer made statements and writings indicating that religious skeptics had caused ethics issues and that he thought that the human race should be ended, as humans were lazy.

He said a strong leader is needed to rule over the people and guide them forward putting an end to the evil and peace of mind to the masses. If we do not value strength of character in our society and if everyone is able to just get by and put out minimal effort than our civilization will slowly decay. Unfortunately if you look around in the United States you see a repeat of history and you can see exactly what Ipuwer was talking about in 2000 B.C.

Personally I am not comfortable with this and I hope you will join me in celebrating strength and live your life strong. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.
