What Causes Depression And Anxiety Insomnia?

What is depression and anxiety insomnia? First, you need to know the meaning of insomnia which is the inability to get a good night sleep on a regular basic. Everyone may find it difficult to sleep sometimes but a person with insomnia never sleeps well. When a person with insomnia does sleep they do not follow the normal pattern of sleep that is required to help them stay healthy. Sometimes they may fall asleep and go straight to what is called “REM” sleep. This is the part of sleep where people dream and this stage is supposed to be reached slowly. Recent studies have shown that it appears that having insomnia can cause a person to also have depression. Therefore, depression and anxiety insomnia is a person that has insomnia that has lead to depression as well.

People with insomnia either can not fall asleep or they go to sleep only to wake up all through the night. When it is time to get up they are just as tired and worn out as they were when they first laid down. Their body and mind does not have time to recuperate for the new day. After a period of time they become depressed and these symptoms can make it even harder to fall asleep. Eighty percent of the people that have depression also have insomnia. In the past it was always thought that depression was the cause of insomnia, but these new studies show that it may be the other way around. Insomnia can lead to depression which is where the term depression and anxiety insomnia has derived.

It is hard for a person with insomnia to function normally everyday. It can make then feel exhausted and irritable. Sometimes simple everyday task become an overwhelming burden for these people. Then when you add in the depression and anxiety insomnia they really do begin to suffer through each day. Something as simple as deciding what to eat for lunch could make a person with depression and anxiety insomnia become upset and feel stressed out.

Living with depression and anxiety insomnia can be very difficult, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are treatments that can help. Doctors now know that they have to treat the insomnia as well as the depression to completely help a patient with this condition. Having this piece of information makes a huge difference. In fact, as long as you keep the insomnia under control and continue to sleep well, you may find that the depression symptoms disappear completely. You do have the opportunity to live the life you always wanted due to research and modern medicines. Your life can be as promising as the next person with many of your dreams coming true.
