What happened to the beauty?
Who radiated matchless purity?
Who glows brilliantly for all to see?
Who lights up the world for me?
Whose joy sets the captives free?
What happened to your integrity?


Your speech is going waywardly
Your attitude becoming unfriendly
As you oppose me your loving hubby
Who loves you fully unconditionally
Holds you dearly and most tenderly
Provides generously for you continually
Honored you greatly in holy matrimony
Helped you in your identity and destiny
He who endures you when you are grumpy
Encourages you onward to be all you can be.


What happened to the woman within?
The woman of great worth and quality?
The darling who delighted in peaceably?
Interacting gently and softly with me?
Where is the woman that first attracted me?
Told me things about herself I believed?
Was I subtly seduced, lied to, and deceived?
I don’t believe so, though we have gone far
Away from where we once were relationally
Dishonoring, diminishing, and speaking defiantly
Backslidden in heart, forgetful, and too familiar
Contemptuous, senseless, and sadly similar
To many damsels in distress trying to dress
Up in anger, pity, confusion, and sadness
I confess some ladies truly are in duress
Battered and torn with emotional stress
Bound in chains complex that often vex
Torment, irritate, aggravate, and insatiate
An unquenchable fury and lack of stability
Such are challenges that first arise inwardly
Followed by explosion and breakdown outwardly.


Therefore I question my and every lovely lady
What happened to push you over the edge?
Why is it you cannot practice self-control?
Why can’t you stand firm and be whole?
What happened to your ability to masterfully
Maneuver through life elegantly and skillfully?
This is the essence of womanhood and its good
By which it enhances, effects and civilizes the earth
Ladies get it together. Get back your self-worth.
Harness yourself within and prepare to give birth
To newness of life as you put an end to all the strife.
