Where Are They Now? C-CAP Alumni Push Forward With Their Culinary Education at The Restaurant School

Graduates of the Philadelphia C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts Program), the national non-profit culinary arts program, will host a “meet the graduates” reception on November 3, 2006 from 11 AM – 2 PM at The Restaurant School in University City, Philadelphia. Meet C-CAP graduates who currently attend The Restaurant School and see firsthand how students in the C-CAP program, many from poor and urban areas, have turned their lives around due to the opportunities given to them in the program. The Restaurant School in Philadelphia offers C-CAP graduates more than $50,000 in tuition and scholarship benefits annually. On November 3, 2006, you can hear their success stories.

Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP) is a national nonprofit organization which specializes in enriching public school culinary programs by providing training for teachers and students, and preparing young people for careers in the food service industry. Since 1990, C-CAP has trained over 500 teachers, reached 90,000 students in over 200 schools, and awarded over 1,650 scholarships, totaling over $15 million. C-CAP manages the largest independent culinary scholarship program in the United States. In the last sixteen years, C-CAP has donated more than $2 million worth of equipment and supplies to financially-strapped public schools in New York; Los Angeles; Boston; Chicago; Philadelphia; Tidewater, VA; Washington, D.C.; and throughout Arizona. In Philadelphia, C-CAP serves over 600 students annually within fourteen area high schools. To date, C-CAP has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to students in the School District of Philadelphia. Students received over $341,000 in scholarships in 2005.
