Whether you have been in MLM for a weekend or years, your business success depends on the quality of the prospects you choose to plug into your organization. When you first signed up you probably came home all pumped up from the speaker’s presentation. You instantly saw the profitability in the program, which equated to financial freedom and quitting your job. All you had to do was spread the word. Tell your friends and family get them signed up and your army of recruits would make you a fortune. After all who doesn’t want to be financially free you thought? Here’s probably what you encountered. That’s a pyramid. Those are illegal. You can’t do that the only people who make money are those at the top. I don’t have time; I’m too busy (watching TV). Then there are the people who can’t say no and just waste your time. They act like they are interested so they won’t hurt your feelings. (They are doing you a favor, they think) You schedule them for a meeting with your up-line and they don’t show up. You chase them around for a month or two and they finally tell you they can’t do it because it costs too much or they heard it was a scam. Or worse yet they sign up and you spend weeks or months trying to get them going and they never produce. You find yourself trying to do everything for them and they don’t lift a finger. Now you are scratching your head and wondering if you made the right decision. How successful do you think Bill Gates would be if he relied on his friends and family to build Microsoft into what it is today? What do you think his profit margins would be if he coerced Uncle Fred to run his marketing division, non existent to say the least but isn’t that what you are doing when you try talking your friends and family into doing something they really don’t want to do? The reason Microsoft, IBM, GE, and Wal-Mart are where they are because they have highly motivated, trainable, dedicated leaders in all levels of their organization. If someone doesn’t perform they are gone. Why should you be any different? Your organization is the foundation of your success so why fill it with the first warm body that looks your way? This is a people business. You are not selling a product, that’s just how you get paid. You’re selling an opportunity. Successful MLMer’s understand this. Don’t chase dead beats just because they have a pulse. The sad fact is most people will complain about their situation but do very little to change it. So how do I connect with those quality prospects and stop chasing those dead beats you ask? It’s simple; you let them come to you. I know this goes against what you are taught when you sign up and in reality it would be impossible without the internet. Direct response marketing has done this for decades. They direct their marketing to a specific target market through mailing lists, TV ads, radio ads and classifieds. Only the qualified leads step forward and respond. The problem with these traditional methods is that they are cost prohibitive. It would cost a fortune to reach the numbers needed to get any return on your money. A 3 percent response rate would be considered extraordinary and yet they make billions every year. What’s the solution; the internet. How do you get information when you have a question or want to research something? That’s right you go online. What if everyone (millions) who typed in MLM opportunity into Google found your website describing your unique opportunity sitting in the top results pages? How many do you think you could recruit? Now you are dealing with someone who sought you out. They are looking for an opportunity all you have to do is see if your opportunity fits their needs. You effectively screen them and only pluck the ones who qualify to join your organization. Now you have gone from chasing dead end leads to pre-screening high quality prospects to join your organization. Do you see what this does for your credibility? You are no longer pleading for someone to participate and trying to convince them to make more of their life. You are letting them know that they have to qualify for your organization and exhibit a willingness to work the system or else you will pass them by. Now they have a sense of obligation to perform when they join your team plus they feel your plan is going to get them the results they desire. Now your organization is filled with go getters who are actively seeking to better their lives and have chosen your system to do that. What’s the cost, about $300 a year to drive thousands of prospects to your door? That’s a fraction of one TV ad or mass direct mail mailing. In fact you can’t advertise in your local classifieds for any cheaper than this. Don’t be fooled into a cheap web hosting company either. You get what you pay for. A cheap website with no traffic is no better than no website at all. Don’t worry if you have no website or computer knowledge. There is a company that will take you step by step through the process of building your website and maximizing it so you get maximum free search engine traffic year round. You may think you can’t run an MLM business on the internet. That’s hogwash. You can manage your down line with online video conferencing, tele-conferences, tele-seminars and email. You can even post useful information on your website to help your organization build their business and your profits. Don’t be a thing of the past, use the incredible power of the internet to compound your business 100 fold. Remember it’s the quality of the organization that counts not the quantity.
