Why You Should Build a List Online I

There are many reasons why you should build a list online. Without a list you could find it difficult to make your business the success you want it to be, and if you don’t know what a list is then you have a lot to learn before you become one of the ‘big guys’.

So, just in case we have readers who have no idea what a list is, just a quick paragraph to explain that. A list is a list of email addresses that have agreed that you can email them with information on your website and special offers. The way to build a list is to have what is known as an opt-in form on your website that allows any visitors to provide their first name and email address in return for an incentive such as a newsletter, free ebook or an ecourse. Once you have your first such email address, you have the start of your list that you can use to keep in touch with, and provide them information on special offers.

That’s a list. So why should you build one? One of the most difficult things to do with an online business is to get traffic. To get visitors to your website. Without visitors your website is nothing but a decoration and something you can look at and admire. It is of no use to you if nobody visits it. Traffic is life blood to an internet business, and without traffic it might as well not exist.
