Writing Articles is Different than Writing Books

By: Lance Winslow

For those who write articles online and use them to do article marketing they need to be quite careful to keep it short and sweet. In fact shortness helps the article because Internet Surfers lack the virtue of patience and thus the article writer must write to that psychological displacement if they want to enjoy the click thrus from the byline at the end of the article. If the reader never gets to the bottom of the article and scrolls down the chances for click thrus are severely reduced obviously.

In discussing this online with top online article writers such as Audrey Okaneko, the difference between writing books and articles becomes readily apparent. Audrey states; We are used to reading books. Books start at the beginning, then tell a story, then have an ending. Articles are different. If you write about writing, your goal is to convey just one idea or one thought about writing. Your goal should not be to talk about hieroglyphics and how we’ve gone from there to modern day writing. That’s just not the purpose of an article.

Indeed Audrey is correct and therefore it behooves all online article writers and marketers to wise up to this fact and take heed of such worthy advice if they wish to remain successful in their online article marketing endeavors. I sincerely hope you will consider this in 2006.
