  • An Apology To Every U.S. Serviceman Or Soldier  By : Michael Bresciani
With masks and dark glasses to hide their faces they set fire to a uniformed effigy of a United States soldier. In the frenzy an upside down American flag was lit on fire as well. Was this the Hezbollah or Al Queda, was this Palestine or Syria? No, these were American "peace" protesters in Portland Oregon.

  • Why Captain Is Pronounced Kaptaan In India  By : Airavat Singh
In Hindi, Marathi, Punjabi, and other Indian languages the word "Kaptaan" was a common mispronunciation for the military rank of Captain from the English language. It's strange that this should be so-for today's generation of Indians would pronounce Captain as either "Cap-tin" or "Cape-ton". It is not well-known even to students of Indian History that English military ranks were actually derived from Old French and Latin. They came into the Indian languages, not through English but through the original French-thus "Kaptaan" is in fact the Indian version of the original French word Capitaine.

This article is about some of the soldiers' favorite rifles and side arms. Here are the opinion of various soldiers about rifles and side arms: "Well, now although I have a real love affair going with AK-47's - and own a half dozen in various flavors - my all time favorite rifle most certainly must be the FAL. Give 7.62x51, anytime! I'll go with a 1911 .45 any day, having owned and enjoyed one for some time. As for a rifle, it all depends on what you're looking for. For me the Bushmaster M4 223 knock off is rather nice, if a bit pricey."
  • Which Hand Gun Is Better For A Women?  By : Victor Epand
This article is about getting a handgun for women and which ones are better.Following is an interview with a specialist about handguns: "Ruger Standard .22 auto. Easy to learn on, next to no recoil, great accuracy, used from plinking to small game hunting, can be used in a pinch for defensewhich beats a phone call not made to 911. If she is gun savvy at all, then a 1911A1. Recoil is not excessive (my daughter regularly shoots mine, as do the many thousands of female IPSC competitors). Obviously, quite good for defense targets, small game hunting, plinking, and competition."

  • Recruiting World's Poor for the US Army  By : Lance Winslow
The United States Army must save money on payroll and therefore it makes sense to hire people at $3.00 to $5.00 per day instead of monthly US Based wages, pensions and healthcare costs. There are huge slums in Mexico with nearly 4-5 million people in them and that means about 1-2 million men of fighting age. In the Kibera Slum in Nairobi there are as many as 800,000 people and that means about 300,000 of fighting age.

  • A High State of Readiness Coupled with Fluidity of Motion is what a Nation's Defense is All About  By : Lance Winslow
A true national defense system is about readiness and the ability to adapt and quickly respond with adequate force to alleviate the disruption to the system or harm to its people. Any nation which fails to have such a system in place is inviting disruptors to cause harm to that nation. A strong defense is the first and foremost responsibility of government.
  • Automated Robotic Reciprocal Response Unmanned Ground Vehicles for Urban Battlespace  By : Lance Winslow

There are also new weapons being designed which could tell exactly where a sniper has fired from. • Networking before a PCS  By : Alan King
Inevitably there will come a time when you have to move. Transferring to a new unit or attending a school can be a difficult experience, with a great deal of valid concern as unknowns mount. Fear is a difficult opponent to slay, but knowledge helps. As you learn the actual facts, the fears become more specific, and easier to deal with. If you don't know what the conditions are like where you are going, or what to expect, you can face paralysis from the overwhelming possibilities.
  • Staying In Touch With US Military Members  By : Alan King
Soldiers traditionally create extremely close friendships. These can last for a lifetime if allowed. However, it isn’t unusual to lose contact when one or the other finally leaves the service. Social networking sites can help prevent that.
  • Dependants and Military Brats  By : Alan King
Servicemembers aren't the only ones who create friendships and then have to move on due to a transfer or release from service. Families can also build these close relationships and have to move on to new situations.Social Networking provides not only a method to stay in touch, but also a method to conduct a search for people who might have been at a post at the same time they were present.
  • Expressing Opinions and Individuality  By : Alan King
One of the more annoying aspects to military life is uniformity. Servicemen are required to have uniforms, uniform haircuts, restrictions on jewelry or tattoos and behavior. If they stay on post, the periodic inspections of post housing for health and welfare will force even one' home to be uniform and generic.
  • Shared interests In The Military  By : Alan King
In the American Civil War, it was common to speak of one's first experience in combat as "seeing the elephant." This was a life changing experience. Afterwards, a man was always different than he was before. In contemporary society, in many ways having served is similar. Answering someone with "Roger," or using "say again" instead of "repeat" are some of the minor symptoms.
  • Keeping in touch With Military Members  By : Alan King
Servicemen, especially those who stay in, quickly find that transfers and reassignments will scatter friends all over the world. Right now, I have friends in the service on four continents.Leaving contact for the next time you get together is a sure path to losing those friendships to time and distance. Without a sense of being involved, enough can and will occur to blur the sense of knowing each other you shared when you were constantly around them.
  • Trends and plans of the US Armed Forces  By : Alan King
Transformation is one of the big buzzwords in the US military establishment. This is probably most well known in discussions of the Army. The Army is converting from a force intended to fight WWIII against the Soviet Union into a more agile, lighter force which is intended to deal with lower intensity combat and non-combat operations around the world.
  • A Quick Overview of the US Armed Forces  By : Alan King
The United States divides its military forces into five services. The Army is the largest and is intended to be the primary ground combat force. The Navy is in charge of operations at sea and includes a powerful air component. The Air Force is the youngest service and is in charge of aerial operations. The Marines are primarily intended to deploy combined arms forces in response to crises around the world.
  • Family Life and the US Military  By : Alan King
Life in the Armed Forces is not for the faint hearted. This goes double for their spouses and children. There are many special challenges for dependents of service members. One of the first are periodic moves to different locations. Uprooting a life with friends and known conditions is at best harrowing even if everything goes correctly.
  • Joint and Combined Military Operations  By : Alan King
Joint and combined operations are the wave of the future. So, what are they?In milspeak, joint refers to having members from more than one service: Army and Marines, Soldiers and Sailors or some other combination. Combined speaks of having members from more than one nation, such as US and Canadian soldiers. Joint and Combined are both possible at once and are quite common in contingency operations around the world, from anti-terror missions to disaster relief efforts.

  • Understanding Milspeak (Military Lingo)  By : Alan King
One of the first lessons a new recruit learns is that the Army speaks a different language than the rest of the nation. Recruits will know some terms most of the time, such as "latrine" rather than "Bathroom." Others are more obscure, like PT or BRM. So here are a few useful terms and phrases.
  • US Army - 232 Years of Tradition  By : Alan King
The US Army traces its history back to the formation of the Continental Army on 14 June, 1775. There are Army wide traditions, and unit level traditions. Some of these are very serious. We trace the civilian control of the US Armed Forces to George Washington’s voluntary release of power after the American Revolution. The strong tradition of following the orders of our civilian leadership is also an important part of the culture of the whole nation.
  • ARMY Leadership roles  By : Alan King
The US Army is in many ways all about leadership. Certainly any intention to stay in will revolve around leadership. The Army is organized around leaders and how missions and information are transmitted up and down the chain of command. Each level of command has a number of subordinates, with the exact number determined by how many subordinates the commander can control at the pace of activity required at that level.
  • What Do You Want Out of the Army?  By : Alan King
There are as many reasons to join the army as there are recruits, but there are some common themes. Some join for a taste of adventure before a relatively normal life. Some join to get technical training for a planned career of some sort. Some plan a career in the Army itself.
  • What To Do Before Joining The Army  By : Alan King
When you have decided to join the US Army, there are several things you can do to make the transition easier. The first step is to begin a physical training program. Life will be much less painful if you are already in some sort of condition. An exercise program that works the whole body is best, and it is probably best to emphasize endurance over raw strength.
  • 2007 Political Trends Leading to World War III  By : Lance Winslow
Will the United States of America see another Cold War in our lifetime? We very well could and this time it could be with China as they are quickly ramping up their military and the United States consumer is funding it. Of course it will take years for them to catch up to our military superiority and yet China works on a long-term time schedule and they have all the time in the world.

  • US Military Electronic Attack Robust Systems for Warfare  By : Lance Winslow
When the United States Military plans an air-strike it plays tough and Electronic Attack is something that the United States is best at, as they come to win and set up the modern net-centric battle space. Anyone who is foolish enough to doubt the ominous ability of the greatest strategists in the world to get the job done, is so caught up in their own rhetoric that they will fall harder and have their optimistic exuberance crushed to the ground and thus their will to fight will turn to a short-term bewilderment until their last breath and the heat of a 1000 Suns during that split second of evaporation.

When will thinking people in Democratic and Liberal camps start asking the hard questions of their candidates based upon facts? When will Republicans and Conservative types start spreading the truth rather than just getting angry?

  • 21,000 Troops To Become The Latest Guinea Pigs For Pentagon  By : William Lewis
The U.S. Department of Defense paid for the development and manufacture of DU weapons, which through their own research was known to be deadly to the very troops using them on the battlefield. Our troops were knowingly exposed to deadly chemical and biological weapons in the theatre of operations during Operation Desert Storm. They are inoculated with drugs that are known to have serious and deadly side effects, none of which have been approved by the F.D.A. They are told by the V.A. that they suffer from post traumatic stress disorder and prescribed medications that deal solely with the symptoms and offer no valid treatments for their illnesses. Their spouses and children are stricken by many of the same debilitating symptoms and health problems, yet the Department of Defense continues to stonewall and deny.
