Now that I have been paying attention to the health of people's gums when they speak, I can see red puffy gums in even young twenty-something-year-old people. I have read from a dentist who states that perhaps somewhere between 75% and 95% of people have gum disease. Gingivitis and Gum Disease Can Be Prevented As I looked further into the situation, a larger picture began to reveal itself. It became apparent that I was the victim of gum disease, the silent epidemic that stalks most people who don't usually realize it until it is time for a costly and potentially painful treatment and recovery. Fighting Gum Disease With the Hydrofloss I was told that I needed a special treatment. They wanted to dig under my gums to get rid of built up tartar and plaque. That sounded both painful and expensive to me. Worse, they wanted to start immediately. Gum Disease is Underestimated Plaque is a nasty, thin but sticky film that allows anaerobic bacteria to be trapped between itself and the hard surface of your tooth. In this environment, the bacteria can thrive. Gingivitis Is A Funny Topic There are a lot of misconceptions about gingivitis.
