  • 11,111 = The Reader - The Internet Surfer - The Customer - The Voter And The Competition Too
All my life I have strived to be the best at everything I do and I must confess that I love the famous Vince Lombardi speech about being the best, winning and being number one. What I have learned about being number one is that you can only get there when you realize who made you number one. You have to thank those who competed and challenged you to go beyond your own abilities. In my book they are number one too.
  • What Makes The Creative Geniuses The Brilliant Innovators That They Are?
Creative Geniuses are brilliant in many ways and yet the stereotypes we think signify the creative genius mind or personality are often bathed in myth or common folklore. Creative Geniuses have been misunderstood throughout time and yet time plays such an important factor in their lives. These brilliant innovators to truly shine must own the Clock and be masters of their time, not beholden to schedules to enjoy the flow of their creative endeavors.
  • The Sky Is Falling Faster Than Ever Before Chicken Little
The sky is falling, the sky is falling and it is falling faster than ever before or so we are told by the mass media hysteria. Oh what is it this time? An asteroid will hit the Earth in 2036, the Mayan Calendar of 2012 or Social Security runs out by 2043? Oh no, oh my, oh me!
  • Daylight Savings Time Commeth 3 - Weeks Early - March 11, 2007
Ready or not Daylight Savings time is coming and the estimates are that billions will be saved in energy costs due to the 3-week advance. Now the trick is to figure out how to adjust the time on all your nick-knacks like your iPod, iPhone, Digital Camera (which never has had the right time) and everything else you own too.
  • Sizing Up The Future Of The E-Republic
In the future we will have Artificially Intelligent Super Computers running our civilization. These units will run our transportation systems, military logistic operations, Federal Government and even city hall. Right now we have them monitoring our weather and in the future they will be controlling it. Each region will have rain scheduled and posted to insure ground water and agriculture.
  • Are Think Tanks Properly Named?
When you hear the name Think Tank you think of a group of super intellectuals solving the toughest problems that face mankind. Unfortunately, many are stuck in linear thought on one side or the other of the political spectrum. Some are courting a third-way, but most have guidelines and limits to what they will consider. This is akin to Thinking inside of a Box or a Think Tank.
  • Franchising In Foreign Nations When State Takes Control Of Free Enterprise
As the founder of a franchising company I often looked towards international markets to expand our brand name and our company. Of course now with all the political tension in the world in the Middle East and in Central and South America one has to wonder if that is a safe bet. If you put in company-owned units in South America or Central America who is to say that in the future the government will not come and confiscate the business.
  • How Futurists Are Able To Hit Bull's Eyes When Predicting The Future
Have you ever wondered how Futurists are able to hit bull's eyes when predicting the future? Now not all are as clever or get things right all the time, but some are uncanny. In fact I had always wondered how these folks did it. So, I studied everything I could find for about five years and then I joined the World Future Society.
  • Mobile Small Business Enterprises In The Urban Slums Of Nairobi Micro-loans & Economic Development
Revitalizing an Urban Slum with 800,000 people in it, will not be easy and that is exactly what Kibera is in Nairobi, Kenya. The Nairobi city officials state that they are illegal settlements and they want them gone. But a plan has been floated by the Online Think Tank to tear down these urban slums in Nairobi and simultaneously build them back up and make them economically viable with small businesses.
  • Why Become A Writer Or Author
You know one of the best parts of writing is to see how it can change people's lives. You can do a lot of great things through writing. It is much akin to skipping rocks in a pond and watching the ripple affect and pondering your place in the world. It has been a fun philosophy lesson for me in fact? I have very much enjoyed this experiment of mine, as I have now written 11,111 articles and put them online.
  • Human to Dog Language Translators Coming Soon
Have you ever wondered what your dog is thinking and intuitively you know, as you get to know your dog better what they want by their behavior, motions or the way that they bark. But what if you had an automatic translation machine that told you exactly what they were thinking or what they wanted to say?
  • Dolphin Clicks To Human Language - Film At 11:00 PM
Currently special tablet computers are being used by law enforcement police officers in some areas and by the soldiers in Iraq to help communicate with people that do not speak their language. These hand-held computer translation machines are a godsend and they are a tremendous help in the field. As we refine these techniques to translate dialogues between humans, why not design one to translate dolphin clicks or dolphin language into human language?
  • Some Information Is Not Worth The Blog It Was Written On!
Many people search on the Internet for information in order to find just what they're looking for. Often they are directed to a blog, but the question is how valuable is this information and who is checking the data to see if it is correct or not?
  • Vehicle Alignment By Size For Increased Highway Traffic Flows
In the future of net-centric cars all automobiles will communicate with each other and it makes sense when on freeways going long distances that these computer systems should allow for all the cars of various sizes to flow together based on their size and weight. It will also be safer in case of an accident or software glitch or tire blow out?
  • People Without Kids Should Legally Be Allowed To Live Forever
Technologies for human longevity are rapidly increasing and pretty soon people will be able to live forever. Of course the theory is that if you can live forever you probably will not want to. Nevertheless we do know from Maslow's hierarchy of needs that self-preservation is very high on the list and people are willing to spend a lot of money to stay alive.
  • Make Humans Smaller - They Will Eat Less!
If the human race continues to populate the planet at the exorbitant rate and exponential growth then we will eventually over tax our eco-system and environment and cause ourselves great harm. Currently over one billion people live in urban slums and do not have enough to eat. There are over 2 billion people with not enough water and a too are starving. Still the number of people being born each day is astronomical.
  • Strip Away The BS - Let's Run A Marathon
One thing I learned about from sports is that a lot of people talked a lot of smack before the events. They would always tell you how great they were and try to psyche you out. It never worked with me, it actually did the opposite. It fired me up and got my adrenaline to flow like water. I noticed that the marathon level at the starting point there was the same type of talk, but it was a little more low-key.
  • Colleges - Universities - Sleep Deprivation and Mind Control
The other day I was discussing with a friend theories on the best way to use mind control to change a society. We decided the best place to do this would be to implement changes in the curriculum and social conditioning at the top colleges and universities.
  • Original Thinkers Must Have Massive Data - Information And Observational Input
Every industry has super innovators and creative geniuses. These are the people who make change, but for such original thinkers they must have massive amounts of data and information input. Indeed that information input must also span across several industries or industry sub sectors to do any good.
  • Data Dumping For The Creative Genius Of Original Thought
Creative geniuses have to be careful that they do not get too caught up in all their ideas. Some creative geniuses have two or three excellent ideas per day. Many of the concepts they create are not economically viable although they are quite unique. Therefore a creative genius will need to data dump. Or simply put the idea into a computer or tape recorder and forget about it and move on.
  • Are We Now An Information Society In A Knowledge Economy?
Many people believe that we are now living in a knowledge economy and having job skills in manufacturing or other industries will not help you achieve the lifestyle or level of income that you need to support your family adequately. But is this really true?
  • Will Internet Online Articles Replace White Papers of the Future?
Today, we see more and more white papers on the Internet as companies use this method almost as if they are scientific brochures. It is getting to the point that most online Internet articles are nearly as packed with data as company's white papers. These white papers are getting rather fancy as a company tries to introduce a new product or tout their successes in problem solving case studies.
  • Do You Really Think You Understand the Debate - Argue the Other Side
Many people claim to be excellent debaters and they know their information very well, however they know it from a limited skew and their own personal perception. If one really wants to debate a topic then one should be able to also debate it from the opponent's point of view; or the exact opposite or even a third or fourth perspective. Think of the last time you were in a political or verbal debate and ask yourself do you understand the other party's concerns and perceptions well enough to argue their point for them.
  • Many Evangelical Christians Claim Carbon Dating And Evolutionary Theory Are Bogus
Carbon Dating of rocks, ancient civilizations and even Dinosaur bones is somewhat problematic for the Christian Religion and assisting in authenticating the Holy Bible, which is said to be the absolute word. Recently in an online think tank exchange a devout Christian stated that; "you know carbon dating is bunk and has been proven to be false.
  • Can eGovernment Help the Obese eCitizen Lose Weight by Providing Proper Information?
In the United States of America we have a weight problem, obesity challenge and it is reaching epidemic or pandemic proportions, literally. What can the government do with their online web sites to get more information to citizens to help them eat better and exercise more? It seems that simple tips of eating healthier and ways to get people who are overweight to start working out a little make a lot of sense.
  • Do Not Speaketh the Truth!
Have you noticed lately that you cannot use certain words without people giving you a dirty look? It is almost as if "tough love" is no longer acceptable and you cannot even spank your own children. We are not allowed to see things in black-and-white anymore because everything is perspective based and even though you see something as a problem you do not dare label it what it is.
  • No Question or Debate Should be Off Limits
To keep our society healthy and maintain good public debate there should be no topic off limits. Every topic or subject must be discussed and debated to ensure that we reach the best solution. If we do not discuss or debate various subjects because it is not politically correct or it might offend someone then we allow a problem to fester into a larger challenge. This is akin to allowing a small fire to grow into a wildfire rather than putting it out with your fire truck as you sit by and watch.
  • Lead by Fear or Instill Tranquility?
There are many different types of leadership and some dictators believe that leadership comes from the end of a gun. Leading by fear is probably the easiest way to get people to do something, especially mass populations which can turn to mob mentality. Holding together the fort and a civilization or society is no laughing matter and it is no job for the week.
  • Where Did Our Methods of Agriculture Begin?
Mankind continues to populate the planet and yet has built huge civilizations which are not sustainable. Humans have built over some of the most fertile land in all the world with giant cities of concrete and roads. Much of mankind's strength is the ability to plan ahead and to plant crops and as the ancient days turned to agricultural work and became common, so too did man's ability to grow in strength. Where did our methods of agriculture began?
  • Was Ipuwer Hypomanic?
One trait we often see with very successful people in various subsectors and industries is that they will often say that other people around them are lazy and just do not try. They claim this is why they are so successful, not because they are great or superstars in their own right, although many of them are, but rather they state that humans have poor work ethic.
  • Disastrous Floods Kill Tens of Thousands Every Year
Every year disastrous floods kill tens of thousands of people. In fact every year in the last four decades, no less than 30,000 people were killed due to flooding in the world. Most years it was well over 100,000. Floods are nothing new to human civilizations, as humans need to live near water supplies and areas of drainage or large rivers.
  • Will Future Civilizations Destroy All the Robots We Build?
The robotic revolution is before us and we are having kids in school compete in robotic competitions. Indeed, we are getting an incredible number of new innovations and technologies from all this and these kids once in college and bona fide research facilities will create the next generation of robots.
  • Doing Nothing Might Sometimes be the Responsible Thing To Do!
Often we find infighting between the Liberals and the Conservatives and everyone picks sides and then they start in with all the sound and fury creating controversy and chaos in the mass media. The hysteria gets out of hand and a shouting match begins. Is all this really necessary? Sometimes the things that we fight over are incidental or really unimportant.
  • America - By the People, For the Lawyers!
In our founding documents it states that the United States of America is a nation built by the people and for the people. Unfortunately most of the laws in our society and civilization have been reshaped by lawyers and sometimes in a self-serving way. One cynical person in our online think tank stated; "America; By the People, For the Lawyers!"
  • Sometimes You Have to Abandon the Experts, Theories and Books and Trust Your Intuition
As the coordinator for the online think tank often we get into debates with experts and Ph.D.'s about specific details and they tell us that certain things will not work or that they are impossible or that they have never been done before. I submit to you after sitting through many of these talks, speeches, debates and discussions that sometimes you have to abandon the experts, their theories and their books and go with your own intuition.
  • Federal Government Paperwork and Global Warming; Hypocrisy
We often hear the about the problems concerning global warming and how it will change our earth and our lives forever and how the water will rise 20 feet and submerge our cities along the coast. There is a lot of talk about global warming and yet all this political debate seems to be hypocritical.
  • Education Online and Computer eLearning Tools for Special Kids
Special Kids require more teachers and assistants per students to assist them in learning. This is a challenge for school budgets as even the regular classes are often bursting at the seams with regards to student/teacher ratios. Tough choices thus, are sometimes made by administrators as the parents of regular kids and of special kids battle it out at PTA Meetings.
  • Online eLearning Education and Children's Self-esteem Issues
There simply is not enough information available on the synergies or detriments that online eLearning will have on our children psyche. Especially limited are issues of the children's "self-esteem" and self-confidence building using these eLearning educational systems. When the Online Think Tank recently brought this subject up at a small meeting many diverse opinions emerged.
  • Hackers and Remote Access to Your PC - is It Possible?
Some hackers claim that they can remotely access your PC, turn it on and then steal all your data while you sleep? Is that true? Well you might be surprised at that answer, are you scared yet? Of course your computer would have to be plugged in our your laptop fully charged and then they would need a way to access your computer thru a WiFi system. Can this be done?
  • Information Awareness and Electronic Civilization Grid Defense System
Most people do not want the government intruding in their lives. They do not wish to have the government listening to their phone calls, knowing their locations or watching their every move. Sure that makes sense but that is not actually how it works. No one has time to watch you pick-up your kid's from Karate Practice. Rather it is a safety system, a net if you will and if something goes down. If your child is abducted or Al Qaeda Terrorists try to pull some shenanigans then you will be very glad to see this is in place.
  • Hackers, Government's Eye and Quantum Computing - Forget Privacy
Many people are so worried that their private information will be stolen and some criminal might steal their identity. Well, these are credible fears and yet just wait until the future with quantum computing. Now as the future of Quantum Computing takes place 128 bit encryption is pretty much worthless. Soon all information will be available to everyone anyway; for good or evil.
  • Access To Private Personal Information, Your Government and Our Allies
Many people are concerned with their information remaining private, they are worried about government collecting the information and they are worried about how the information they collect about you might be used against you in the future. In fact just recently many governments of the world have joined to share information about you that has been collected.
  • Jenna Bush Writes New Book for HIV Awareness
President Bush's Daughter is a hero, as she writes a book to promote HIV awareness about a single mom in Panama. Jenna Bush has completed "Ana's Story - A Journey of Hope" and it is for teens to understand all the issues of HIV and to get kids to think and stay involved on solutions and to assist them in understanding. Hopefully this excellent book will prevent unnecessary discrimination.
  • The Blogosphere and Its Uses
Have you Blogged today? The Blogosphere is used in many different ways, some folks use it simply to publish their thoughts, some use it to promote something or an idea and still others are using it to meet people or sell something. This is why you see so many variations of Blogs, Blog Communities and Internet Forums that mimic Blogs.
  • Is The Government Reading Your Blog?
We know that most people fear too much government and they fear that the government is listening into their phone calls. But in reality why would the government give a flying hoot when you are going to pick up your kids from soccer practice. Of course if you are calling overseas and talking to Al Quaeda, well they might like to know about that.
  • Illegal Immigration and Our Constitution
What does our Constitution have to do with illegal immigration? Glad you asked actually. Now then, regarding the issues of Illegal Immigration, indeed that is the job of the Federal Government to protect "against foreign invaders" and yet we must also be weary of protocols, international trade and travel too.
  • Sub-Prime Lending Disaster Cometh
In the late 1980s and early 1990s we had the junk bonds and the S & L Scandals and now we have a crisis in the sub-prime lending banking sub-sector. During the height of the real-estate bubble too many loans were being made to folks who had marginal or less than marginal credit. Loans were made well above the actual equity value. Now the equity in many folk's homes has dropped by 20 percent or more, where does that leave the lenders?
  • When is Giving to the World's Poor is Bad
Everyone has heard the Christian Saying; "Do not give a man a fish, teach him to fish" and for the most part this wisdom cannot be debated. Thus, we are all careful in the US to not just give free-hand-outs, but rather assist individuals and groups get back on their feet. Feeding the World's poor is a monumental task. There are over 1 Billion people living in Urban Slums throughout the World and 2 more Billion people in the living on less than 1.00 dollars per day.
  • Giving Aid and Volunteering in The World's Urban Slums
Urban Plight is not acceptable in the United States and many a politician has run on the platform of cleaning up the slums or shanty-towns. Often these leaders will call for the complete removal of the shanty-towns, sometimes by way of Bulldozer. When this is done voters and taxpayers cheer because it keeps real estate values from shrinking and curbs crime too.
  • Why You Should "NOT" Donate Money To Orphan Slum Non-Profit Groups
Many people believe that if they give money to non-profit groups that support the poor and orphans in Urban Slums that they are helping. In reality this only causes more people to come to the Urban Slums and more mothers to give up their babies or children to orphanages. Additionally, it causes more babies to be born and less discretion in having more babies.
  • Social Security Bankruptcy on Every Citizen and Politician's Mind
The Federal Reserve has made continual warnings about the collapse of Social Security and the President of the United States has also warned of the 2042 bankruptcy of social security. Obviously it is time for the rest of America to wake up. Many have and it seems any politician who talks about limiting social security will not get elected. This is a problem as they are afraid to address the issue.
  • Upgrading The US Will Not Be An Easy Task
It is time for America, the greatest nation ever created in the history of mankind to upgrade the civilization we created. This will be a huge undertaking due to the massive size now with some 300 million people. In fact no one could say it will be easy, as nothing in life ever is. No one said that fixing the problems would be simple, but the concept of how it should work is simple.
  • Medieval Muslims Made Mathematics Breakthroughs Now Used to Help Guide US Weapons!
The ancient civilization of Persia was considered one of the greatest civilizations ever created in the history of mankind. Now much of that area is occupied by modern day Iran, a great nation with good standard of living. The President of Iran reminds of the great and noble ancestry of Persian Empire and tells of the foundation of their noble nation.
  • Do Slum Dwellers Breed Like Rats - Is That Really A Fair Assessment?
The political correctness gets a little unnerving at times when researchers are busy trying to assess a situation. Not long ago the Online Think Tank did a study on World Urban Slums and particularly one on Nairobi and the Urban slums there. One comment in the report calling for an "Action Plan" stated that some folks say that the slum dwellers were breeding like rats.
  • The Political and Capitalist Elite and the Misconceptions
Many people wish to complain about those Political Elites or Those Capitalist Elites who seem to rule the masses. Not long ago, I wrote and article where I used the phrase; "Understand the secrets of the Elite and the money flows of civilization" and wouldn't you know I caught hell for it? Many people sent nasty emails to me, and yet the article was designed to help them.
  • Using The Human Bio-System To Fight Aids Naturally - Is It Possible?
Think Tanks take complex problems and attempt to solve them using simple solutions. Often the simple solutions they come up with are not enacted due to false perceptions of the challenge at hand or created political realities that will not budge. Some times solutions no matter how good are considered unspeakable due to political correctness or barriers set by those who in the Status Quo or leadership positions who feel threatened.
  • Space Camp for Your Children!
Many of us growing up wanted to go to the NASA Space Camp in Alabama and of course that would not be easy, as the competition was severely tough. Recently one of our Online Think Tank members from the UK notified us that he was building a VR or Virtual Reality, 3D, Surround a Sound model, simulator of the Space Shuttle, he is in Europe. Cool stuff.
  • Fear of Dying Before You Make a Difference in the World
Did you know that there is a huge fear amongst innovative type humans and that is that they fear that they will die before they complete their life's work or make difference in the world? This is quite common amongst super star innovators, creative types and even geniuses. They know they cannot get everything done in time and there biggest fear is not being able to complete their work or make difference.
  • Solving The World's Problems
How can we solve all the World's problems in the current paradigm? Especially considering all the linear thinking going on these days, as it appears we are solving one problem only to create two-more? One gentleman said recently to our online think tank that he had noticed that it was hard to solve challenges that face our societies and civilizations in the present period with all the mystical and false assumptions of the masses. Also the media and spin changes the reality a bit in people's minds who are not certain what on Earth they really want.
  • The Truth about Small Non-Profit Groups Helping With HIV-AIDS in Africa
If we look closely to all that is being done in Africa to combat HIV/AIDS the truth is not a lot. The population percentages in some parts of Africa with AIDS is so high the chances of contracting it are well over 80% and that means there is not a lot of hope. Many groups solicit monies from the public to assist in the combating of HIV/AIDS and yet when we look at the stats, well these groups as well-intentioned as they are fall miserably short.
  • Upgrading Living Conditions in Urban Slums
When upgrading living conditions in the World's Urban Slums what must be considered? Recently, our online think tank took a look at many of the issues in upgrading the Urban Slums in Nairobi, Kenya. Some folks had suggested bringing in animals to the slum, other suggested making brick buildings instead of cement buildings.
  • Ego is Evil - This is What the New Generation is Being Taught
Is ego really evil? We are teaching kids in schools and even colleges that those people with strong self-confidence, self-esteem and ego are some how evil. But it simply is not so. But why are we doing this? It appears we want to make a whole bunch of sheeple who will not stand up for anything, merely blindly follow. So lets call them the Sheeple of Tierra del Fuego shall we?
  • Is Mankind Outgrowing the Price System?
Some people have noted, even economists that the Price System, that we use in human societies and civilizations is outdated and unworkable. They cite the disparity between rich and poor and all the poverty in the world. To a degree one would have to admit upon thinking about it, that it is not the most perfect system, as it often rewards certain types of behavior which undermines the whole (the rest of the population) for the betterment of a few?
  • Do You Take the Weight of The World's Problems on Your Shoulders?
Many people worry too much about all the problems and challenges that mankind faces. As I operate the online think tank many people ask me how I deal with it all and why I take such issues so personally? Well, all mankind's problems are our problems too. Sure we can look the other way, yet that does not solve anything really does it?
  • Howard Scott and His Vision for the Perfect Civilization
Perhaps you do not know who Howard Scott was? Well, he was a genius with a vision for the United States and he was a very wise man; a modern day Plato if you will. Indeed, I am a fan of Howard Scott's vision in many ways. I was recently re-introduced to all this by a gentleman from Canada who was also a big fan of Howard Scott for his brilliance without baggage and his understanding of how civilizations work and the efficiency component when they work right.
  • Technocracy Says - The World is Over Populated - They Are Right!
Few would disagree that human population is too high for the planet's ability to produce without some major modifications. If you look up the Technocracy Website you can see that this group is right on the money when it discusses the over population issues. But what can be done?
  • The World Urban Slum Crisis and Committees
One look at the Slum Crisis in Nairobi and one can see that this is a humanitarian crisis of epic proportions. Why is everything taking so long to fix? Well the city does not want the slums there calling them; "Illegal Settlements" and the non-profit organizations have taken this as a philosophical project to debate and have committee meetings around the world to "discuss" it.
  • Debating the Solution to the Nairobi Slums
There is little debate over the serious humanitarian crisis of the Nairobi slums, as the living conditions are atrocious. There is raw sewage everywhere, garbage pilled up and no toilets, sewer system of plumbing in the make shift improvised shelters. Of course these are always issues when humans live in high-densities without modern civilization services.
  • Writing an eBook About the Nairobi Slums
Not long ago I did a comprehensive study on the Nairobi Slums reading about 30 research papers, 100s of articles and all the NGO and government website information on this subject. There are reams of information and most of it all says the same thing. This is one of the largest humanitarian challenges in the World's Urban Slums.
  • Small Non-Profits Working in the Nairobi Slums Making a Difference?
Many small organizations have volunteered to help out in the Nairobi Slums to help those in need, some of the poorest in Africa living under the worst conditions. One small group KENWA has helped 1743 children? Not just any children, orphans of HIV/AIDS victims.
  • Dignitary and Politician Photo-ops - African Slum Tourism in Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya
It is truly amazing the rise in Slum Tourism by world leaders, dignitaries and politicians. It seems everyone wishes to their picture taken with a little African Child. Of course how much of this slum tourism is for the photo-op record books and how much is for true concern for the poorest of the World. Recently the Online Think Tank thought on the issue of slum tourism in the World.
  • Bulldoze the Nairobi Slums and Start Over
There are millions of dollars spent by many well-intentioned folks on the Nairobi Slums, as volunteers from around the world come to help. Unfortunately, more drastic measures are needed. In fact, it makes sense to bulldoze the slums in sections and rebuild them with concrete structures.
  • Can We Save the Slum Dwellers in Nairobi?
After considerable thinking on the Nairobi Slums by the Online Think Tank it seems like an overwhelming situation. The Slums need a master plan and that would have to include bulldozing and starting over. For many that sounds too harsh and there are sure to be riots and protests once the bulldozing begins. But rebuilding the slums with rudimentary structures would solve the current problems there.
  • Why Revitalizing Urban Slums of the World will Not Work!
For those who get a chance in their lives to visit emerging nation's urban slums it is an experience that they never forget. Most everyone who visits them feels a great deal of empathy, even the most hardcore individuals. One cannot help but think something must be done, even take up the cause themselves to push awareness, motivate volunteers, influence political will or devout their lives to aiding the sick, weak and poor.
  • Recruiting World's Poor for the US Army
The United States Army must save money on payroll and therefore it makes sense to hire people at $3.00 to $5.00 per day instead of monthly US Based wages, pensions and healthcare costs. There are huge slums in Mexico with nearly 4-5 million people in them and that means about 1-2 million men of fighting age. In the Kibera Slum in Nairobi there are as many as 800,000 people and that means about 300,000 of fighting age.
  • E-Government; IT, Evolution or Leading to E-Democracy and Revolution?
Most humans do not think very much and it is said that only 2% of the current populations thinks a lot and uses their brains. Just like house pets which do not have to hunt for food lose their cranial capacity over generations; humans will too. De-evolution is real. In the future you will be required to think less, because we will develop Artificially Intelligent machines to think for you.
  • Is it America's Responsibility to Feed the World
We sure hear a lot about all the people in the World who make less than a dollar per day. We hear stories about those who live in the slums of Indonesia, India, China, Africa, South America, Central America, Bangladesh, Haiti and Palestine. Indeed, many believe it is the wealthier countries responsibility to feed them all and care for them; this simply is not so.
  • The Slums Of Nairobi - Is There A Viable Solution?
The disease and filth is ramped in Nairobi's slums and the task is overwhelming just to keep up. Non-profit groups are over taxed and it takes a lot of money to maintain a viable effort to help the people there. Even so, the slums of Nairobi are not completely dire nor do the people there feel absolutely down and out, there is a sense of perpetual optimism and "strong will" despite the conditions.
  • Economic Development After Initial Revitalization of Nairobi's Slum
As the local Kibera Slum, Nairobi, Kenya's largest slum is re-vitalized as part of a herculean effort and creates its own wind and small business environment it will be time to push for strong economic development. Once economic plan is initiated it must be maintained.
  • The Notorious Northeast Neglected Nairobi Slums
The North East Nairobi Slums do present challenges, but nothing compared to Kibera. Kibera is the biggest slum in Nairobi with some 800,000 people. Never the less the notorious Northeast slums of Nairobi are one rough neighborhood. They have the same dire conditions as the other slums in the city with HIV/AIDS running ramped and raw sewage and garbage piling up.
  • Far Westside Nairobi - Kenya Slum Areas - Unfortunate Challenge
The West Side slums which dot the Nairobi Capital City of Kenya's master plan satellite map will need some consolidation and consideration. These areas need to be cleaned up and yet it is also important where those people work. Often the poor are exploited in Nairobi.
  • Nairobi Slums Near Airport Critical - Dangerous Situation
International Terrorist experts know that slums are breeding grounds for terrorists. Indeed they also are favored places for recruiting by "evil doers" and yet too often no one looks at the obvious. There is much talk of the slums in Nairobi, especially Kibera where even our own politicians go in order to get photo-ops.
  • Nairobi City - Annexation of Parts of Kibera Slum
In Nairobi there is a huge slum named Kibera or "Forest" unfortunately there is nothing peaceful about that tree line, as there are no trees only 800,000 people living in slums of sewage and trash piles. The smell and health problems are intense. Throw in a huge HIV/AIDS crisis and you have yourself one of the worst Humanitarian Disaster in all World.
  • Nairobi - Kenya and the Kibera Slum Humanitarian Disaster Discussed
The United States of America funds Kenya some 1.6 Billion in Aid and yet we have human rights issues and slums in Nairobi, as well as in other large cities in Kenya. The slums are a humanitarian disaster, but in rural areas people make even less money and many are starving to death. In fact the farm workers are coming to the city for work, because they cannot make enough working in agriculture.
  • The Plan to Re-vitalize Kibera - Nairobi Kenya's Biggest Slum Considered
The only way to insure that The Kibera Slum is completely taken care of is to bulldoze it down and then rebuild it with plumbing. To do this will mean it must be done is sections and those sections will need to be further broken down into sectors.
  • Urban Slums a Failure of Human Civilizations
Today over one billion people live in Urban Slums on Earth and that number is rising at an alarming rate. In Kibera in Nairobi Kenya, some 800,000 people are living is severe conditions, including raw sewage and around 1,000s dying of HIV/AIDS. Kibera in Nairobi is merely one humanitarian crisis and there are many more like it Africa, Asia, South America and Indonesia. Africa had an estimated 14 million orphan children of HIV/AIDS victims and that was a figure from 2001, some believe the number now is nearly double if not triple today. Even without the AIDS crisis, 32.5 percent of the Earth's human population lives in Urban Slum areas with very similar living conditions.
  • The Strategic Construction Plan and Grid Upgrade Projects for Nairobi's Kibera Slum
One quick look at an aerial photo of the slums of Nairobi and one is taken aback and is moved to do something about it. In viewing a Satellite Photo above was taken in 2004 from the GlobeXplorer-Terraserver Internet Project and you can see the scope of the problem.
  • Kibera Slum of Nairobi Kenya
The largest slum in Nairobi, Kenya is called Kibera and has over 800,000 inhabitants. The roads or pathways are littered with animal waste, garbage and human waste. Although most of the children do not wear shoes the roads often have jagged rocks.
  • Action Plan For The Nairobi Slums
The challenges of the Nairobi slums are not going away. Sending in good money after bad will not solve any of the problems there. As the estimated population in these slums grows to well over 2 million there will be more mouths to feed, more trash piled up, more sewage, more disease and less water. Currently the growth is exponential, although HIV/AIDS is taking a serious dent out of the total number, somewhat slowing the growth.
  • Why Do Anything or Join Any Cause?
Many folks latch onto a cause and volunteer to help, most likely this gives them a sense of purpose. Generally, they get caught up in the contrived chaos and controversy and join in all the sound and fury, but to what avail. The fact is you can work your whole life on some worthy cause and spend all your time, money and energy fighting against the artificial barriers and someone on the other side who is fighting equally to stop your progress.
  • What Would You Do About the Nairobi Slums?
To Bulldoze or Not to Bulldoze that is the question. The Nairobi slums in 2003 had some over 1.8 million people living in 134 slums. There has been a stead growth there. Today HIV/AIDS runs ramped and orphans of dead parents are increasing. The sewage runs thru the streets and crime and filth are everywhere. The garbage and trash continues to pile up and NGOs around the world have come to help, but what can they do?
  • Speech Technologies and Online Article Authoring Advice
Sitting and typing thousands of online articles is no easy feat, it is hard work. In fact my first four-thousand articles were all by typing. Then I tried out voice software. My voice inflection is so animated that sometimes the voice software makes too many mistakes. I had IBM Voice Type from doing my Company's Manuals about 10-years ago and it never really worked quite right for me. Today however it is much better.

  • Solutions for Africa Discussed
Feeding the Third World is not an easy endeavor especially, as so many are dying of AIDS. With millions of people starving to death and dying of HIV/AIDS where can you start to make a dent in the problem? There are orphans to feed, educate and train, as soon they will be running the society there. Then the agricultural infrastructure needs to be set up.
  • Video Webinar Features for Collaborative Groups Considered
If you run a collaborative network of people and are engaged in long-distance communication then video conferencing or Webinar features make a lot of sense. Not long ago our Online Think Tank looked into this in fact. Regarding the Video Webinar perhaps you like myself do a lot of eLearning and are use to using video online services like; webinars.
  • Challenges and Solutions for Feeding a Continent
Many NGOs are having huge problems trying to feed all the people in need in Africa. Relief food deliveries are often hijacked and worse trying to evenly distribute the food is difficult as some people who are strong take the food for themselves from the weaker people. Sometimes rebels and armed groups steal the food too.
  • Give Food to Africans and the Poor of the World with Human Sterilization Ingredients
What if the United States and other first world nations around the world which are feeding the poor in the third world give all future food with a caveat? What if we told them that the food they eat will have salt peter in it and also temporary sterilization properties. This would prevent those who cannot support additional mouths to feed the temporary inability to breed?
  • How The Bombing of Africa Can Save Millions from Dying
The Great Apes of Africa are nearly extinct due to human hunters. Most of the wildlife on the African Continent is stressed. Each year more and more species are put on the endangered species list. While Americans worry about one Polar Bear species and blame it on Global Warming, Africans are killing off 1000s of species and devastating the eco-system in Africa.
  • Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and Global Warming - Using UAVs to Plant Trees
The Rain Forests on planet Earth are receding at an alarming rate some of this is due to normal planet cycles and some is due to mankind's industrial growth and sprawling increased populations. Humans need resources for their civilizations and timber is one very popular material used to build homes, businesses, schools and infrastructure. Nevertheless, the rainforests are an important part of Earth's over all eco-system and the trees and vegetation is needed.
  • Fighting AIDS a Continent Away
So many people want to assist in the fight against AIDS a disease killing millions in Africa. AIDS is spreading and it must be stopped. What can you do a continent away? Interesting you should ask that, as I asked myself that same thing not so long ago. My thoughts were not much, perhaps assist in awareness or bring the issue up at our Online Think Tank.
