Their mothers shaped them into the kind of persons that they turned out to be, therefore, they have every reason to be thankful to their mothers. "All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel Mother." - Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) Mommies are Humans I remember the first time I burst out in anger at my young baby at the ripe ole age of 2 months, the first thing to strike me is the feeling of GUILT. All throughout the initial month or so after birth, I felt that I must achieve a level of superhuman strength, patience, endurance and tolerance. "Being a mother is like that", I was told. Like what? Like a superhuman? Thinking Forward Sometimes it appears as though there isn’t any point in cleaning up the house because the moment you’re done picking the things up, cleaning, mopping and sweeping, the kids are going to do their thing and everything’s going back to…being a mess! And after spending a considerable amount of time mulling in the kitchen cooking up a storm, all you get is ‘yuck’ or ‘I don’t want to eat’. Time Out... for Moms No matter how pleasurable, enjoyable and worthwhile you think motherhood is, there will be times when you just feel like peeling yourself away from the screaming, fighting, endless amount of work, cleaning, cooking, feeding, bathing and umpiring. There’s no end and you’re only human! Human and every human being’s got a threshold for pain.
