  • Smart Women - Forget New Year’s Resolutions - What's Your Gut Telling You
People might expect an Executive Coach to write how to keep up with New Year's resolutions in February. For example, gently chiding "are you still keeping up with yours?" To be honest though, I’m not a big fan of them - as they are often undertaken out of guilt or just because we are all "supposed" to make a resolution –"this year I should stop smoking, lose weight, leave my job." They concentrate on what you are giving up rather than what you are getting. The most successful changes are made when you are truly motivated to lead a different life – not based on an arbitrary date. One resolution or goal I hear frequently involves using intuition more when making major decisions. Clients often report they have been better off when they use their intuition, but are slow to do it because of the seeming lack of rationale.
